Shri Guru Ram Dass Charitable Society (Regd.) was established by Ms. Davinder Kaur Aulakh in Nov. 1996 in name of Fourth Sikh Guru Ram Dass Ji with the vision to provide educational facilities to the population of Kandi area & to work by all means at disposal for the betterment of society, in general & weaker sections of the society in particular by providing charitable health & educational facilities.
The society started SHRI GURU RAM DASS INSTITUTE OF NURSING EDUCATION HOSHIARPUR in 1997 offering 3 years general Nursing & midwifery diploma. The society with its sincere intentions to improve standard of Nursing education and to create educational opportunities for girls of kandi area started B.Sc. Nursing four years degree programme in 2004. So the institute was upgraded & the name changed to Shri Guru Ram Dass College of Nursing . This college has proved to be a boon for girl population of this area as so many of its ex-students (G.N.M.), B.Sc Nusing and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing are well placed in reputed private and government hospitals and colleges in India as well as abroad.

The society made a big leap in endeavours to serve the mankind when it started Shri Guru Ram Dass Charitable Hospital in March 2005. This hospital has all the modern health care facilities. The hospital provides low cost quality health care services to the people. Right from inception, Shri Guru Ram Dass Charitable Society has set before it an ideal of excellence in Nursing education and is providing health care services to the mankind . The society seeks its strength from almighty to strive hard to achieve its mission.
Shri Guru Ram Dass College of Nursing is one of the premier institutes of nursing education in Punjab. It was established in 1997 and is affiliated to Indian Nursing Council New Delhi, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The college offers M. Sc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Post Basic Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery programs. The college has state of the art infrastructure and highly qualified and experienced faculty to provide quality education to the students. Latest technology educational aids are used to make teaching learning experience more interesting and whole some. College has well equipped labs. Library of college is well stocked with more than 2800 latest edition books, national and international journals.
